HIPAA Consulting Services
Experts say that the recent financial crisis and credit crunch will not spare the healthcare and medical communities. Among those potential changes is likely to be a shake-up within medical group practices and nursing homes facing human resource decisions, payroll cuts or updating technology.
This is an excellent time to consider the use of contract, interim and part-time outsourcing that provides professional expertise without the added burden to payroll and benefits or long-term commitments.

Annual HIPAA Security Evaluation | On-Site
The Security Rule represents a management-based approach for healthcare and related organizations to apply administrative safeguards, physical safeguards, technical safeguards, organizational requirements and policies and procedures and documentation requirements.
As a means of monitoring compliance with the Security Rule, HIPAA created the Evaluation Standard 164.308(a)(8), which requires a periodic technical and non-technical evaluation of the healthcare organizations security safeguards to demonstrate and document compliance with their security policies and the security rule requirements.
The on-site audit combines HIPAA Security Standards with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) HIPAA implementation guidelines to steer the process of a controlled evaluation. The audit covers over 260 questions relating to the Security Rule and Evaluation Standard. A Certificate of Completion is issued following successful completion of the security evaluation.
HIPAA Tune-up
Many organizations become involved with a merger or acquisition of additional healthcare groups. An on-site HIPAA tune-up is an excellent way to tap an outside HIPAA professional to examine the HIPAA programs of each organization and advise the best strategy for combining the best of both organizations and developing a standard, unified program for all.
